Easter is usually celebrated around March. It is the day of the Resurrection of Jesus. Easter is the second to last day in the story of the Resurrection of Jesus. The story goes that Jesus was crucified on the Friday which is called Good Friday and resurrected after 3 days.
Death
Jesus was killed by the Romans because they were jealous and scared that his preaching Jesus was meant that he wanted to overthrow them. Jesus was betrayed by one of his disciples Judas after the Last Supper. He was captured, whipped, humiliated and crucified for preaching what God ha sent him to tell people.
Significance
It is important because it when Jesus died, he took the sin of everyone with him. He also tore the veil between the secretive church and the people. It meant that people could talk to God directly.
Easter marks the end of Lent- 40 days of fasting or giving up something important to signify when Jesus resisted temptation from the devil.
