Islam Quran
The Quran has a literal meaning of "the recitation. It is the central religious text of Islam.
Muslims believe the Quran was verbally revealed by God to Muhammad through the angel Gabriel gradually over a period of approximately 23 years, beginning on 22 December 609 CE, when Muhammad was 40 until his death.
Muslims regard the Quran as the most important miracle of Muhammad, a proof of his prophet-hood.
The Quran consists of 114 chapters of varying lengths, each known as a sura. First sura of the Quran, Al-Fatiha, consisting of seven verses. Suras are classified as Meccan or Medinan, depending on whether the verses were revealed before or after the migration of Muhammad.

Famous verses in the Quran
And whenever you give your word, say the truth [al-An’aam 6:152]
And speak good to people [al-Baqarah 2:83]
He who obeys the Messenger has indeed obeyed Allaah [al-Nisa’ 4:80]
By no means shall you attain al-birr (righteousness) until you spend (in Allaah’s cause) of that which you love [Aal ‘Imraan 3:92]
And walk not on the earth with conceit and arrogance [al-Isra’ 17:37]
And turn not your face away from men with pride [Luqmaan 31:18]
And speak good to people [al-Baqarah 2:83]

Although the Quran and Islam speaks of peace there are verse of violence
Quran (2:191-193) - "And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out.
Quran (2:244) - "Then fight in the cause of Allah, and know that Allah Heareth and knoweth all things."
Quran (2:216) - "Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not."
Quran (2:244) - "Then fight in the cause of Allah, and know that Allah Heareth and knoweth all things."
