Hinduism-Important Rituals
Hinduism is an ancient religion with no founder or known date of origin.
The term "Hinduism" simply derives from the word "India".
In Hinduism religious life is focused on the devotion to the Gods (perceived as Brahman, Shiva, Vishnu, or Shakti) or several gods. The devotion is generally completed in front of special sculptures and images of gods in home shrines.
There are traditional Hindus and Philosophically minded Hindus.
Philosophically minded Hindus ignore all the Gods and seek realization of themselves through intense meditation. But they still focus on fulfilling the social and moral duties appropriate to their position in life.
Traditional Hindus have four stages of prayer over the course of their life which is determined by their age.
